Village Hall – Closed again January 2021

From 31st December 2020, the Village Hall is now temporarily closed.  North Yorkshire had been moved to Tier Three under the Government’s Covid restrictions, and subsequently we are now in a further national lockdown.  Therefore all the activities we have recently been running in the Village Hall are not now possible and we are closed until further notice.

We hope that things will improve soon and that we will be able to safely re-open the Village Hall and our activities and events.

Winter Wonderland

December 2020 – Hall now Re-opened!

Since the month-long lockdown has ended, the Village Hall has re-opened from 3rd December.

We are pleased to re-start with yoga classes, and the open library sessions.  As many of the other activities are not yet allowed to take place due to restrictions, and user groups are not able to come back or don’t feel ready to, then the Hall isn’t being used as much as it has been previously.

Farndale Entertainment Committee are organising a Winter Wonderland event in place of the usual Christmas Party –  this will be for all the community, not just the children, and will be run with Covid-secure planning.

As mentioned before, I’m sure in Farndale we all as neighbours and friends will help one another if people are shielding or not well or unable to get out or just need a chat – but if anyone does need some help during the next month or so, please do get in touch and we’ll try our best to help.

Lockdown 2 – Hall closed

Just to confirm with everyone that from 5th November 2020 until 3rd December at the earliest, the Village Hall will be closed.  Government guidelines state that village halls have to close in this second lockdown period unless they are offering specific limited services such as childcare or food takeaways.

Over the past few months, we’ve had a few activities start up again, and also has some bookings at the Village Hall.  Obviously, it hasn’t been as busy as before as people are naturally worried about mixing with others too much, and some activities we’ve done before were still not allowed to take place.  It’s a shame with our lovely new building that we can’t use it as much as we’d like, and that people in the dale can’t get together as much or in the same way that we would do normally.

I’m sure in Farndale we all as neighbours and friends will help one another if people are shielding or not well or unable to get out or just need a chat – but if anyone does need some help during the next month or so, please do get in touch and we’ll try our best to help.
