Farndale Does Strictly!

We have just had a fantastic night, learning a group dance with dance tutor Natalie Stevens.  Hosted by FEC (Farndale Entertainment Committee), the evening was full of fun – Natalie taught us all a group dance to Dancing Queen.  Hopefully there will be another FEC dance night organised again soon!!

Farndale Village Hall’s 5-year anniversary

On Saturday 25th May the Village Hall held a Ceilidh for Farndale residents and Hall users – everyone had a fun evening having a go at all the different dances, and having lots of laughs as we went along!!  Many thanks to Thom Hardaker and his band for the music and helping us so much with the dances!!

Spring Books, Craft, Plants, Tea & Cake Sale

We held the annual Spring Sale on Saturday 6th April in the Village Hall.  The day was a success – lots of visitors as well as local folk came to support the day.  The Sale was to help raise funds towards the Hall’s five-year anniversary party in May, and also raising funds for Children in Distress charity shop at Kirkbymoorside.

The Farndale Craft Club had a stall selling some lovely items that the group had made especially for the day – this raised over £100 which, along with 50% of the tombola proceeds brought the total amount of £160 that has now been donated to Children in Distress.

The remainder of the day’s proceeds has gone into a kitty for the Hall’s celebration event.

Thanks again to everyone who helped with baking, making or donating items, and helped on the day.  The cakes and buns were gorgeous!!

Christmas Craft Stall Fundraiser

The Craft Club had been busy making a whole load of Christmas crafts and items to sell at the Christmas Fair in the Hall. As the Fair had to be cancelled due to the bad weather, the Craft Club decided to sell their wares at a stall in the Village Hall that was available at all events and activities in December.  The Craft Club is delighted to say that, thanks to all the makers and buyers, the stall raised £119.05 which has been donated to Ryedale Special Families.  Well done everyone!!

Happy New Year!

The Village Hall Committee would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year, and all the very best for a healthy, fun and wholesome 2024.

Thank you for all your support at the Hall over the past years. If you have any suggestions or ideas for improvements please do get in touch.

Jumble Sale a Success!

Thanks to everyone who donated, helped and came along to support the Jumble Sale – together we raised a magnificent £357.98 which has been donated to Ryedale Carers Support, a charity in Kirkbymoorside that works to support carers and people who benefit from a volunteer visitor or respite care.

Coronation Party

On Sunday 7th May, Farndale held a huge celebration for the Coronation. There was games, competitions, ‘Dessert fit for a King’ judging panel trying all the desserts entered, and much more.  The children enjoyed running races, welly wanging, and a duck race was held too.  Everyone contributed to and shared a grand banquet community tea and a special Coronation Cake was made for the occasion. Thanks to everyone who helped on the day and in the planning and tidying up afterward – it was a really community effort and a great day too!

Farndale’s Coronation Celebrations

For the Coronation of King Charles III the Village Hall hosted the screening of the actual event, along with bacon butties and tea/coffee for all who came.

Blankets sent to Turkey/Syria

These lovely hand-made blankets have been knitted by ladies at the Craft Club, and sewn together then sent off by Jean – they have gone via the World Care Organisation to Turkey/Syria for people affected by the recent devastating earthquakes.
